This is an exclusive, one-off special edition of  The Macallan The Reach 81 Years Old  – the oldest whiskey in the world. This exceptional bottle was distilled in 1940 and bottled from a single sherry-aged oak barrel. It is housed in a display case lined in luxurious red leather – instead of the traditional cream leather that the original whiskey comes with.
Each of   The Macallan The Reach ‘s  288 bottles   is housed in a hand-blown decanter and held by a bronze sculpture of three hands. The case is made from the wood of a fallen elm tree that was said to have stood on the Macallan Estate in 1940 – the year of distillation. Buy now

This is a new element that contrasts with the traditional cream leather in which the original whiskey was delivered.

• Color:  Deep reddish brown
• ABV:  41.6%
• Nose:  Dark chocolate, sweet cinnamon, aromatic peat, plums, leather, pink grapefruit, currant jelly and a rich resinous note.
• Palate:  Syrupy toffee, blackberry jam, licorice, crystallized ginger, nutmeg, charred pineapple, pecans, wood smoke.
• Finish:  Intense, rich, sweet and smoky.
