Suntory Hibiki 17 Years Old Kacho Fugetsu
The Hibiki 17 Kacho Fugetsu was released in 2015 and is decorated with chrysanthemums, the national flower of Japan, and cranes. This blend has been created by the House of Suntory from a marriage of various single malt and grain whiskies from their distilleries and has matured for at least 17 years. This limited edition bottling takes its name, Kacho Fugetsu, from the rough translation for flower, birds, breeze, and lunar and celebrates the beauty of Japan’s nature. The bottle presented in the bottle has 24 faces to represent the 24 seasons in the Japanese lunar calendar. While I have read claims that less than 1,000 of them were released, I find that hard to believe as you do see them around somewhat readily. Prices seem to be on the rise although I believe that quite a few of them should still be around. By 2015 more people had figured out not to open these bottles and keep them as collectibles with the early releases already have shown some sort of increase in value. The Hibiki 17 Kacho Fugetsu is part of the Hibiki hand painted limited editions range. The “Kacho Fugetsu” comes in a beautiful hand painted bottle to celebrate the beauty of Japanese nature.
